Bladder Problems

Hi everyone,

My name is Holly & I am a newbie to the graduate board. I have waited

and waited to finally post (RNY 11-1-02) and it couldn't have come at

a better time! I could use some advice. I was wondering if anyone

has experienced bladder problems as a result of surgery? Not just

our normal bladder infections from not enough water but maybe a

dropped bladder from carrying the weight. I have been in pretty

severe pain for at least a week and have seen my PCP twice. She

tested me twice for UTI (negative) & has now referred me to a

urologist. She thinks maybe my bladder has dropped or moved as a

result of the weight loss (-150 lbs). I thought this sounded unusual

but my symptoms are A CONSTANT NEED to go to the bathroom, spasms &

lower abdominal soreness. The only relief I get is from a HOT bath.

She has also given me some anti-spasm meds that seem to help a little

but doesn't make the urgency to go, go away. It is very annoying

because I feel like I have to go to the bathroom so bad it hurts only

to go a little when I do. I do not have burning when I urinate only

a severe need to go. I do have some pressure and pain that is very

uncomfortable. Just wondering if anyone out there has heard of this

or experienced anything like this as a result of surgery. Thanks for

your help!
