OT Grammy email hacked?

I'm suspecting that Grammy Gay's email has been hacked.

This happened to a friend of mine a couple of months ago.

The hackers use the email and address book to make it seem the email is coming

from a friend- claiming they are stranded somewhere and get people to Western

Union money to them.

I think Gay's address book is quite extensive and is an easy target.

I know Gay has been quite busy lately and I do not think she is stranded in

Barcelona.

This is the email I got;

I Hope you get this on time,sorry I didn't inform you about my trip in Spain for

a programme, I'm presently in Barcelona and am having some difficulties here

because i misplaced my wallet on my way to the hotel where my money and other

valuable things were kept.I want you to assist me with a loan of 2000 Euros to

sort-out my hotel bills and to get myself back home. I have spoken to the

embassy here but they are not responding to the matter effectively,I will

appreciate whatever you can afford to assist me with,I'll Refund the money back

to you as soon as i return, let me know if you can be of any help. I don't have

a phone where i can be reached. Please let me know immediately.

Yahoo that her account has been compromised.

The hackers monitor the actual email addy and erase anything coming in that

might expose them. Pretty genius actually.

Very clearly hacked, from my perspective. I received a *very* similar appeal a

few weeks ago " from " a high-school acquaintance (this person had recently

organized the reunion for our class of 670 and so had a huge email address book)

stranded in Scotland and needing 2000 pounds because she had been robbed. I

wrote back to her to express my sympathy and ask if she had really sent it and I

never received a reply!
