Hi all,

I have been having the wonderful baked goodies from SCD bakery. Unfortunately I

have been having a lot more cramping and bloating. Mushy poops. Not ready for

nuts I fear. I also have been eating more calories, but think I lost a pound.

Pressure under right ribs too.

I guess I'll start all over with chicken soup. Seriously depressed. Sick of the

same stuff all the time.

Suggestions?

Thanks,

June

June- how long have you been on SCD? Yes, it is really hard in the beginning and

also hard to return to the basics after eating more advanced foods. Feeling

depressed is part of this too. When I get this way I tell myself- it's your gut

talking to you- not you, and a few days of intro brings the good mood back. I'm

a serious believer in the gut-brain connection and when the gut is off, so are

the feelings.

Nut flours were always harder on me than nut butters. Are there some simple

foods you like? Adding honey or cinnamon to apples and yogurt helps. Frozen

ripe bananas are delicious.

Going back and forth with foods is part of the process. Hope you feel better

soon.

I can't eat yogurt cause I have terrible reactions to dairy.

I can't seem to tolerate honey very much either. Don't want to get into gory

details.TMI. I have been on SCD for a few months.

There is the possibility of a set back a few months into SCD " 3 month flare " . It

scared the daylights out of me- as any set back would. It was over quickly with

a return to soups and basic foods. As depressing as it feels to go back to

soups, they are the most beneficial.

Can you do pureed cooked veggies/fruits/ meats/ soups?

PJ

If you are not tolerating yogurt, a probiotic may help. You need to replace the

bad bugs with good ones. But be careful- some people do react to this. You may

want to make yogurt from a different source- coconut, almond, goat milk.

One thing which is characteristic is that we eat entirely too much of

those wonderful nut flour goodies when we start them and our systems

aren't ready for them yet.

What were you eating before you started the goodies?
