Ian Surgery Scheduled

Ian's surgery is scheduled for next Wednesday, Jan 18th. Although,

I'm hoping it will not change as I had a conflict with the protocol

leading up to the surgery and demanded that it change. I'm sure I

will hear from the GI doc tonight.

He wanted to have Ian take Pedialyte from 10pm to 6 am on the

17/18th - have him admitted to the Pediatric floor at the hospital

on the 18th at 6 am - have an IV administered with D5 .....well - I

cut the nurse off at that point and said not acceptable. There is

no way he can have Pedialyte for that long of time and only an IV of

D5. So, I told her to march right back into the The GI docs office

and tell him he needed a new plan. Then, I got off the phone,

called my Endo and left an urgent message with him that he needed to

confer with my GI doc and explain that with Ian's difficulties with

Hypoglycemia - that we needed a new plan! So, we shall see how this

all gets changed. They were very nice about it and very

accomodating. It's so nice to have such pleasant people working on

all this.
