My insurance paid for mine or will be paying for mine. I had to prove

the same things prior to the revision that I did prior to the original

surgery. That was not a problem. Some insurance companies require

medical necessity. Others, I am sure, won't pay for it.

SLD and insurance

Have really enjoyed being back on this list. Guess I was never

off,but you do have to read.

With all of this talk of SLD and revisions, I'm curious, how does

insurance look at these? Since many of us are not are morbidly obese

any more, just petrified of returning, does insurance usually cover

these?

My biggest nightmare, well at least one of them, would be to find out

that I had a SLD,needed a revision and that not be able to get one.

My insurance wouldn't pay for plastics, but I've been able to accept

that,(most of the time anyway, However,my employer is changing

insurance companies in July, so I'm going to try again)

Mine did, too. I had regained 17 pounds at 6 months out, bringing my

BMI at that time to 35.6. My surgeon said it was a question of them

seeing the benefit of approving it now, rather than waiting for me to

gain all my weight back. My insurance at that time was Horizon BC/BS

of NJ, and I thank G*d that someone there had the forsight to approve.
