How long does it take?

I went to the orthodontist yesterday for a diagnostic. He took xrays

of my bite, then did the gooey thing for braces. He told me that it

would take four weeks to process all that stuff, and then he would sit

down with me to talk about a braces treatment plan, before sending me

to an orthodontist. Four weeks... then I have to make an appointment

with an oral surgeon, and wait for him to file with my insurance to

see if I'm approved.

Well, time is wasting away. How long does it commonly take from this

point to when I get my braces on? It's almost October, and I was

hoping to have them on by November. Is this too far fetched?
