Guess Who Cooked the Tofurkey???

Back from my vegetarian Thanksgiving - it went fine -- in fact, right

now, I am in a sugar coma from the Chocolate Terrine (can you say " three

layers of FUDGE " ).

I thought you would find it amusing -- I ended up being the one to

cook the TOFURKEY! The hostess is a neighbor and she called me this morning at

10:00 a.m. She had just then (seemed sort of late in the game to me) figured

out that she didn't have room in her oven to heat up " the bird. " She asked if

she could pop it in my oven! So, the Tofurkey came to my house, where I

cooked it and then hauled it back over to the neighbor's at lunch time.

When the neighbor brought the thing over, I was tempted to tell her

husband that I wasn't sure I could have it in my home -- " ethical objections "

regarding the mistreatment of soybeans, you know? Personally, I think it was

terribly inhumane to the tofu to mold it into that funk " roast " shape.

Dinner was excellent though, even with the absence of the

turkey/gravy/dressing. The eggplant was delicious. There was, however a HUGE

quantity of

dishes made with white potatoes -- definitely a high carb meal.

I'm thawing out my REAL turkey this weekend and preparing it for my

own little family of meat eaters.
