Ketones

My gaughter Morvens breathe constantly smells of ketones.Any ideas

what is causing this.She had her blood sugar tested a few months ago

and they were apparenty normal.

Has she or is she sick at all? How is she eating? Both of these may

be causing her to have ketones. Can you check for them with

Ketosticks? If she isn't eating well it could be causing it. I am sure

someone else may be able to help further. I hope everything is okay

though.

A child can spill ketones without being sick. Do you check blood

sugars? How is her calorie intake? I would start doing ketone checks

with her urine and then call your Pediatrician and/or Endo immediately

if you see any spillage of more than trace with the results. Please

keep us posted.
