Subject: 2010 NIFS Abstract Submission Problem

All: I have had several complaints of not being able to get on the NIFS

Abstract Submission forms page of the web site. My apologies for this

difficulty. I have been unable to trace down a problem for whenever I try to

access the site, I am able to access the form and successfully submit a test

abstract.

As well, we continue to receive abstracts submissions regularly. The most

recent being submitted at 7:51 AM Central Time today. All I can think of is

that perhaps an individual is opening the site then compiling the information

requested, as opposed to having it ready to submit. M

My IT person says that other alternate explanations could be as simply as

individual computers have a Pop-Up blocker that needs to be deactivated to

access the page, to the more difficult problem of institutional firewalls not

allowing access.

Due to this problem, I am extending the deadline for abstract and program

presentation summaries until January 29, 2010. Hopefully this will reduce the

apparent congestion and allow access that is currently difficult.

Those of you that routinely forward NIFS information to other List Servs please

do so with this message.

Again, my apologies for the problem.
