My daughter's head was 50th percentile at birth, and 90+ by 6 mo. They

were a little concerned about hydrocephalus, but she didn't have any

delays and was rolling and sitting on her own by then. In our case

they chose to do an ultrasound, although our doc told us that a CT

scan is the " gold standard for this " . She felt the risk was low, but

wanted some reassurance. My daughter checked out fine, and her head

has measured about 95th percentile since that time (staying on the

same curve since then).

My daughter's height and weight have both been 90+ percentile since

she was young, so I think her head was just catching up with her

body. I just wanted to let you know that fast growth is something to

check, but not always a problem. I do think the fast growth at a time

when she wasn't sitting yet was a major contributor to her flat head

(brachy). I hope things check out okay for your baby too, but please

let us know.
