Sulfur food reactivity and hunger

To those who need to avoid sulfur foods and other types of foods:

My sulfur food reactions are pretty strong, and avoiding sulfur foods has really

helped me

be much more functional, energetic, and mentally " with it. " Some salycilates,

too, but not

all.

But today, for the first time, I deliberately ate the same as the others in my

family (I ate

sulfur foods) because I just can't stand being constantly hungry. I haven't

figured out a

way to increase my caloric intake on this sulfur-free diet. I feel like I'm on a

starvation diet.

I am 15 pounds below my healthy weight. I've lost 11 pounds since going

sulfur-free back

in June, and when I started the sulfur-free diet, I was already concerned about

being to

light. I think the last time I weighed 125 pounds was when I was . . . I don't

know . . . 11

years old? Yesterday a neighbor told me I look anorexic. He was not joking--he

was

concerned.

All day today, I debated what would be worse: living with the sulfur-food

reactions and

the inability to function very well that comes with it, or the constantly

decreasing weight

and feeling of hunger that is always with me. Until dinner time, when I ate my

scrumptious

meatloaf with garlic. . . then I figured if I know I'm going to get an

unavoidable reaction

from the meatloaf anyway, I might as well enjoy some real milk, ice cream,

cookies . . . and

finally am going to bed feeling full. I'm also getting pretty self-conscious

about my

appearance. I'm fearing people will judge me when the look at me, secretly

assuming I'm

trying to look like an anorexic Hollywood star on the supermarket tabloids or

something.

Which could not be further from the truth--I really believe in the importance of

maintaining a healthy weight, and I'm sure I could get back those 11 pounds if I

went back

to my old way of eating.

I really think I need help with this issue from you guys.

Chemically speaking, does eating sulfur foods really cause mercury

redistribution? Is that

why we get that reaction? I do get those two phases: total euphoric happiness

and energy

the next day, followed hours later by a bad crash in energy, mental function and

mood.

Will I just end up allowing more mercury damage if I " put up with " the reactions

in order to

gain back the weight?

Maybe I need sulfur-free recipes from some of you, or something. This is really

a dilemma

and I don't know who can help me figure this one out. As I write this (the

reaction hasn't

hit yet), I am really glad that, for once, my hunger has been sated for the

night. I fear I

will regret it in about 24 hours.
