Tests to ask for, and zinc relationship to symptoms

Hi,

In a week I'll be seeing my integrative-medicine doctor again. I'm planning

to ask for the Hair Elements Test from Doctor's Data Inc and a fractionated

urine porphyrin test if he feels that he can trust the lab to take care of the

sample properly. Depending on the results my plan is to have half of my amalgam

removed a few weeks later, with the rest removed at the beginning of the new

year.

Does anyone have any suggestions for tests I should consider leading up to

having amalgam removed? If you suggest a test please say what you would expect

from the results, i.e., what you would do differently depending on what the

results are.

About me: my symptoms are lightheadedness, tingling in extremities, and

" thirst " . (I don't believe it's really thirst. It is always strongest first

thing in the morning.) I've noticed at times some tightness in my chest. In

the past I've had ringing in my ears and tightness in my calves. I feel " not as

bad " when I eat a non-processed food diet. This could be considered a

non-sulfur diet, although probably not perfectly so. I have a very difficult

time getting to sleep at night and waking early in the morning, so my whole

schedule is shifted later in the day. The latest thing I've noticed is an

apparent change in symptoms when I change the amount of zinc I take. I haven't

tested this enough times to be certain, but it appears that I feel better when I

take more zinc. The last time I reduced my zinc intake my lips tingled a lot

more and the corners of my lips became sore. Taking more zinc reduced these

symptoms. (I want to confirm for myself that zinc is the cause of these

changes.) Any thoughts on these symptoms and/or zinc would also be welcome, in

addition to the above request about tests to consider.

Thanks!

Ray
