Guest guest
The Center November 2007 Newsletter The Center, Mt. Arlington, NJ Presents November 2007 Monthly Newsletter The past month has been a busy one at The Center. Many good things are happening! Ms. has had a very busy speaking engagement schedule and has had the opportunity to meet many new friends to help. New Location! We have found a new home. As we mentioned in past newsletters, we were asked to move from our current location because of 'our noisy children' in the building and other 'disturbances' in the peace and quietude of the building. In other words, they asked us to leave because we work with disabled children. Although this was disturbing to us, we figured that we would take this opportunity to find a space more suitable to our clients. We have found a location that welcomes our clientele and neighbors who have assured us that they will not mind our noisy children. It is larger than our current location and we have a private bathroom. We hope to be in our new location by January 1, 2008. Our new address will be: The Center Roxbury Business Campus 19 Rt 10E, Unit 25 Succasunna, NJ 07876 We already have had volunteers offer to help us move. Thank you so much for your kindness and support in this transition. Open House We will be hosting our Fall Open House on November 13, 2007 at 7 PM. This will be the last Open House in our current location, so if you know people who are curious or interested in what we do, this will be the last opportunity to come and visit us before the end of January. Please reach out to , our Office Manager at npdunn@... to register or call her at 973-398-2710. We look forward to meeting many new friends. Speaking Presentations Ms. is being asked to speak at more and more conferences. This past month, in addition to the many local support groups that she presented to, she was asked to present at NAMI-NY (National Association for Mental Illness-NY). She was very well received and many participants expressed an interest in using sound-based therapy with their families or clients. She also met with a CHADD group in NJ and met parents at The Children's Institute, Verona, NJ. This month, Ms. will be exhibiting and presenting at the World Congress on Disabilities in Washington, DC. Her presentation will be at 2 PM on Saturday Nov 17th and our booth will be number 701. Come visit and say hello. It will be held at the Washington Convention Center from Nov 15-17th. She will also be presenting to newly interested parents in Utah on Sunday Nov 18th. This will be at the end of our Utah Outreach. Upon her return, she will be presenting at the Metaphysical Annual Fest in the Holiday Inn & Conference Center, 50 Kenny Place, Saddlebrook NJ held from 10 AM to 5 PM. Ms. is presenting at 3 PM. In addition to the many conference scheduled for Ms. to present at next year, she was just invited to present at The Learning Brain Expo in Orlando FL next July. Outreaches Our Utah outreach is coming to a close. As usual, many positive responses have been reported. Ms. will be going to Tennessee to do a Diagnostic Evaluation for Therapy Protocol Outreach in January. If interested in obtaining this valuable test battery in TN, please reach out to at npdunn@.... Locally, we will be hosting an outreach in Tinton Falls, NJ from January 29-February 12 and March 11-25, 2008. Ms. will be presenting in Monmouth Junction on Dec 3, 2007 to discuss sound-based therapy with interested clients at this outreach. Additionally, she will be administering her Diagnostic Evaluation for Therapy Protocol in Marlboro, NJ on Dec 4 & 5, 2007. If interested in learning about the presentation, testing outreach, or therapy outreach, please contact at npdunn@... or call us at 973 398 2710. We thank Mark Corallo of Creative Communicators for helping to organize this Outreach. Scholarship Recipient We had our first scholarship recipient this month. This client received a scholarship of $3600 towards a Tomatis program. If interested in learning more about our scholarship program, please reach out to Ms. at ddavis@.... Testimonials This month had many " miracles " as reported by both clients and parents. One young man who has developmental issues, recognized that he can vary his voice for more expression. A 49 year old woman whose thyroid was removed and left without her voice, began to use her voice again. This brought many tears to her, her family, and our office staff. In Print Ms. had an article published in " Relevant Times " , September/October 2007, pg 21. Check it out on www.relevanttimes.com. On the Radio Ms. interviewed Dr. Deborah Ross-Swain from The Swain Center in CA on her monthly autism one radio show. Tune in the second Thursday of every month at 12:30 PM to www.autismone.org. This month's presentation can be found in the archives on autismone.org or on our website www.thedaviscenter.com. New Website Ms. now has her own website where more information about her concepts and ideas will be shared as they evolve. Search www.dorinnedavis.com. Clients continue to support Ms. 's concepts and ideas. Comments such as: Do not ever give up on what you do!!! It is takes a special person to care & understand and really want to help others succeed. You were the first person that made a difference in my daughter. You made me a believer & wanting to come back with the confidence that she will succeed. Thank you for believing in what you do and what you do for others.... make Ms. want to continue her research. She has also begun to reach out to investors interested in bringing the concept of sound-based therapy to the general public. This will be the only way that her concepts and ideas can be developed to reach more people. If you know of investors interested in alternative approaches to learning and wellness, please have them contact Ms. directly at ddavis@.... The year 2008 will be the year to accomplish great things! We wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving! Puckett-Dunn Office Manager The Center 200 Valley Rd. Ste 205 Mt.
