Hi friends,

I know some of you on here know a lot about Lyme disease and I was wondering if

you could give me a little guidance.

Long story short, I have been having a lot of health issues for a while and my

doctors have not been able to figure it all out. I have been diagnosed with

Hashimoto's and an enlarged thyroid. One time when blood work was done, my TSH

was very, very low (hyperthyroid) but all my other labs have shown normal

thyroid levels so I am not on any supplemental hormones for my thyroid.

A rheumatologist ran a ton of tests and most of them came back normal. The few

that didn't don't fit a typical pattern for any specific autoimmune disease. He

did run a western blot because I described a rash that he said sounded like the

typical " bullseye " rash. He is right. I have a picture of the rash and it

could be described as " bullseye. " I had never thought of Lyme disease when I

had the rash or even with all my symptoms because I live in FL and it just

didn't cross my mind.

Anyway, the only thing that came back reactive on the western blot was the 23 KD

IGM band. The test results say that 2 or more of the 3 IGM bands need to be

reactive to be considered positive for Lyme disease.

My doctor did not even mention the Lyme band. I know about it because I have my

test results.

Thoughts? Can I be assured that I don't need to worry about Lyme if that was

the only reactive band?

Thanks,

Cathy
