Does everything give you hives? What a pain for you. Feel better.

Pam,

Well your weight loss is nice!! Hope you get that energy you need.

I'm changing my vitamins too, they are giving me hives... scheesh what next?

Re: Fatigue

Hi Tarri:

I still feel like I don't have all the energy I should. My surgery was 4 days

before yours. I have been trying to eat more protein, hoping that would help.

Also, one of the posts I read reminded me that maybe I am not drinking enough

fluids which means dehydration which means lack of energy. So I am making a

point of trying to drink more and I think it's helping. Also, I have been

considering changing to liquid vitamins (better absorption)to see if that helps.

Another person on liquid vitamins said she had more energy since she started

them and they dont make her feel sick. I notice I am starting with the hair

loss. Not lots, but more than I am used to. So I figure maybe the extra

protein will help with that also. Well, I guess this is the price we have to

pay to be thin. Good luck. Let me know if you find anything that works for

you.

Something new that I just tried is buying the womens vitamins from GNC

and grinding them. I mixed them with a little powder jello (sugar free)

and put it under my tongue. Didn't taste too bad. Just don't mix a lot

and it will absorb fast into your blood stream. I don't know if this is

recommended, but I thought it would be worth a try.

Very often the fatigue is from low potassium levels. There have been other

post ops who have had to take potassium supplements. It is just a itty bitty

pill. You need to get bloodwork done. Don't wait. In the meantime drink the

Gatorade.

I think they all have the potassim and elektrolytes. I tried my daughters

Powerade the other day and if it has the same stuff in it I will probably do

that rather than Gatorade. You might go to a health food store and get some

potassium. I know Dede VanZandt (she is a post-op and rarely posts now) had

to take potassium and feels soooo much better. Call Dr.R.

Pam: Drema and I both had no energy for at least two months. As you know, I'm

retired so I was able to recover easily. But Drema has three little ones and she

literally dragged herself around. Eventually the energy came back..with a

vengeance because I have so much more now that it makes me restless.

Have a great Christmas Pam. See you the 27th at Rip's!

Thanks PJ - if I don't see any improvement with switching to the liquid

vitamins then I will relay the issue to my PCP and check my blood work. How

are you doing??

Thanks Trudy. I'm kind of holding off bothering him until I give the liquid

vitamins a chance to work and then have my PCP do some blood work.

faithfully since the surgery but in the past 2 -3 weeks it is all I can do

to finish my work day and make it to the couch. I don't want to give up my

Re: Fatigue

The safest things (in my opinion) would be to see your PCP and have blood

drawn. Have check out your blood levels in everything. So if your thyroid

is slowing down, you'll know it, or if you need more iron, you'll know it.

If everything comes up " okay " maybe you'll have to try a different approach.

But if you're way out of wack on something you want to know that, too.

Tarri and Trudy:

GNC store sells a brand called All-In-One I am told. I do want to check the

ingredients compared to the " One Source " though.
