Thanks for the post, Bobbi !!

You're a very good example for all of us, please stay in touch!

Hugs, Trudy

hello everyone! i haven't posted in a while but i read everyday! im glad

everyone is coming along well. i will be 7 weeks post op on monday.

i have lost 43 pounds as of this past wednesday. 7 1/2 inches off the waist

at clinic i was 302 and 48 inches on waist.

i have dumped once and that was with lettuce. so lettuce is gone for now.

i am so glad the 1st month is over. i thought i was going to go crazy. i

still drink a lot of fluids and avoid things that may have a hard time

going through. i have eaten several things:

soft taco(no lettuce)- former favorite, remains a FORMER favorite

spaghetti- did fine with lean beef

tuna and chicken salad on 1 slice of toast- did fine

seafood salad-(no lettuce) did fine

baked potato-fine

rice- fine

i could go on all night. my point is, ive tried certain things that i use

to love and now have no desire at all. i had read that same comment from

post ops before i had surgery. now i know exactly what they mean. i have no

desire to eat candy or cakes or brownies. ok let me stop before we have a

chocolate attack. its supposed to snow tonight here. we always want what we

don't have and have what we dont want. i did get me some popcicles to suck

on. i had to force myself to like sugar free stuff but ive adapted..

i survived thanksgiving and didnt even have turkey. i love turkey but it

can be dry if your dear old grandmother forgets to baste!

sorry to take up so much space. but its been a while for me! 9 more pounds

and i'll be at a 12 year low. since high school!

Cindy, I love to read 's posts too. Don't you just crack up at the

unique way she has of putting things and then add the lack of

punctuation--that just adds to the flavor. Go . Hope you get to

where you can eat some gooooood food. But at three weeks, I was still on

liquids and maybe a little rice. 8 weeks now and I am eating it allll.

I must say that I agree with the person (Trudy maybe) who said that

should share her experiences with the group. I also think that she should

make note on every post that she did not have the MGB. I have been on here

long enough to know that she had the RNY but the new people wont know that.

Her weight loss has been exceptional, due to slight complications, and I

think her results can be misleading to some. I, personally, do not want

pre-ops to see her mention her weight loss and think that the same type of

weight loss is attainable for them.

Secondly, I did not see anything offensive with what was said to her. I did

think that her comment about " haters " on this list was offensive to me. I

have never seen anyone on this list be anything but helpful and supportive.

The folks on this list were very supportive to and I think that is

the main reason that she is here.

Just adding my 5 cents,

Hi Lynnette,

I am sorry if you feel neglected or ignored. I am just now getting to the

point where I am talking some, and you are welcome here. I enjoy hearing

everyones story / stories. I didnt feel like I " fit in " either when I

first came here, but I now understand that to have folks talk to me, I have

to talk too. I wish you all the success in the world with your surgery, I

was an emotional basket case before mine, I was scared / excited . Let me

say " Welcome " and Hello to you.

Best of Luck and Happy New year to you and yours

Lynnette,

I dont want to " chastise " anyone. But since this IS the Mini Gastric Bypass

egroup and she did not have the MGB, she is somewhat different. I never said

that she should leave. What I said was that I think she should let it be

known that she had a different procedure. Her experiences and complications

can be valuable information to pre-ops and those seeking information about

different procedures.

I am SURE that there were some newbies to the list who assumed she had the

MGB. I am a big advocate of being " correctly " informed and being able to

make an informed decision.

If you are feeling neglected on the site... maybe you dont participate. I

dont ever remember seeing a post from you except within the last few days.

There are more than enough topics discussed or questions asked to make anyone

feel welcome and have their say.

But this is just one black woman's opinion and my dad always says, " Opinions

are like a**holes, everyone has one, and most of them stink.

Ok apparently I am not getting this? I think that we should all be jolly

right!!lol Since as we all know Fat people are suppose to be. Are we all

getting thinner skins as we are loosing weight lol. If someone says something

you don't like or hurts your feelings how about telling that person, again I

say most people don't realize they have hurt someone's feelings. I may have

missed something but I haven't read anything bad someone has said. but again

if you dont like what is said delete it and ignore it. Life is short takes to

long to be mad at a whole group lol.

Well said Marg!!!!!!! As far as I am concerned everyone is welcome here and

treated fairly. We are like a family and when we have a problem with

something that someone says it should be discussed with that person. That

person should not just up and run without giving the accused a chance to have

a say and decipher what may have been taken wrongly by the reader.

I agree Lynette, that we should all support each other. I don't agree that

RNY's are treated any differently. Nor should they be. I know one other

very important thing, though, and that is that the one real flaw with email

is that we can not hear the tone of someone's words. Intonation is a key

part of communication. I know Trudy and I know her heart. I really beleive

that her words were heard in a way that was different from her intent. She

just wanted everyone to know that had had the RNY and that she had

had complications which prevented her from being able to swallow, and that

she required a second procedure to fix this problem, and that she also has an

ulcer, and that all of this had contributed to 's extraordinary weight

loss. That's all. Trudy was thinking that newbies on this site might think

75 pounds in a few weeks was 'standard' and Trudy was just saying that the

whole story should be told. I also believe that was extremely MO (in

the 400's if I remember correctly) and that plays a factor as well. That's

all that was meant, nothing at all negative nor pejorative. Just a slight

misunderstanding. And yes, we are all adults.

Many folks have asked to please stay. I hope she does. Whatever her

decision, though, I hope we can move on. . .

Thanks, PhillyJude

I must be reading a different list. Never have I seen

a post " chastising " or anyone else who chose a

different route. To the contrary - I have always been

so proud of everyone going out of their way to welcome

every list member with open arms no matter what

procedure they choose. I remember when

announced she was having the RNY and why --- everyone

wished her luck and begged her to stay on the list.

I do not agree that explaining to " newbies " that she

had a different procedure is " chastising " .

Sometimes it is difficult to accurately read the

poster's meaning or attitude through email and I truly

believe no harm was meant.

We all want and Lynnette to stay on the list

and welcome their input.

procedure they choose.

Hi Lynnette, my name is and I'm considering WLS. I know what MGB is, but

I don't know what RNY is. I'd appreciate it if you could tell me. Thanks,

.
