Prescott, M.D., Executive DirectorHuntsman Cancer Institute2000 Circle of HopeSalt Lake City, Utah 84112-5550(877) 585-0303 Dear Mr. Huntsman, I read this article about you in the September 26, 1999 edition of the 'Sunday Post-Tribune' (Northwest Indiana): " Billionaire puts money into morals SALT LAKE CITY - To catch a fly, chemical magnate Jon Huntsman explains, you have to know where it's headed. 'Always shoot ahead of the target,' the 61-year-old billionaire said, reciting lessons learned as a naval gunner. 'You have to use your imagination.' It's a philosophy that works for the man who built the world's largest privately owned chemical company from scratch and is embarking on his next mammoth task: finding a cure for cancer. Last week, he opened the Huntsman Cancer Institute, a six-story addition to the University of Utah campus. " The article concludes: " I don't think you can move science forward or provide resources for science for your own personal edification. It has to be for the general good, " he said. Mr. Huntsman, what would you think if I told you that I heard this recently on the national news - Two Spanish scientists had spent weeks struggling through the tropical rain forest in search of a flower whose nectar had powerful anti-cancer properties according to the experiences of the Amazonian Indians. Finally, after a laborious trek through the sweltering heat they chanced upon a glistening meadow containing an abundance of the iridescent flowers which they sought and which yielded enough of their golden nectar to meet the research needs of these two scientists. Upon returning to Spain they administered the nectar to 32 cancer patients and after three weeks these were the results: " .....Histological studies showed involution and transformation into low-grade malignancies and disappearance of evidence of cancer. " " No toxicity was observed and all regimens were equally well tolerated. Most patients had a feeling of well-being and there was no nausea, vomiting, myelo-depression, or central-nervous-system symptoms. No changes in pulmonary, cardiac, hepatic, or renal functions were found..... " " The nectar seemed to be completely nontoxic over a wide range of doses, and had a considerable antitumour effect in epidermoid carcinoma of the head and neck. Definite signs of activity were observed in epidermoid carcinoma of other regions and in other solid tumours, such as breast, renal, ovary, thyroid, and parotid cancer. " " Reverse transformation seemed to affect only tumour cells since no effect was observed in the normal skin, mucosae, or other epithelial tissues. The selective character of this action explained the absence of toxicity of the nectar's treatment. " Mr. Huntsman, the preceding paragraphs are true in the number of patients, the weeks involved and the results of the treatment; however, the two scientists did not go to the Amazonian rain forest to obtain the nectar - they simply administered in 1979 to their cancer patients a chemical which is related to PENICILLIN - Thioproline also known as Thiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid also known as 'Tac'. The details are found in 'Treatment of Cancer by an Inducer of Reverse Transformation' (enclosed) which you can see was published by one of the world's foremost and prestigious medical journals, 'The Lancet', January 12, 1980, pp. 68-70. Since November, 1997, I have been imploring the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to repeat this Spanish clinical trial only this time follow the guidelines delineated on pages 7 to 9 of www.jsr1936.com (enclosed). In the Spanish trial the oral dosage of Tac was only 5 mg/kg. By the way, this acid is specifically identified on 'MedLine' as being " anti-cancer " ; see pages 3 and 4 of www.jsr1936.com. I suggest that with the protection of vitamin C, 40 mg/kg. of the acid could be orally administered. Pages 9 to 11 describe 'The Gutierrez/ Procedure for the treatment of Cancer'. Thus far this procedure has met with limited results - 2 successes and 2 failures. However, this procedure has amply demonstrated one very salient fact - four adults have tried it and no one has suffered (at least no one has told me so) any ill effects from a formaldehyde overdose ('Equal' breaks down into formaldehyde). All four adults swallowed each day at least 270 packets of 'Equal'; a company official declared on a television interview that 97 packets of 'Equal' per day was " too much " . By the way - if people do follow this procedure they should use only the 'Equal' contained in the 6 " x3 " blue container; the individual packets contain dextrose while the blue container does not. In my opinion, dextrose, a sugar substance, promotes the growth of cancer. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN - " Swallowing of formaldehyde produces irritation of mouth and gut, irritation of lungs, severe abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, rapid pulse, blood in urine, ..... " Vitamin C affords phenomenal protection against the toxicity of formaldehyde; Tac is composed solely of L-Cysteine (one half) and formaldehyde (one half); thus, vitamin C will enable us to utilize 'mega-doses' of Tac. This, then, in my opinion, is the key to the cure for cancer - 'Mega-doses' of Thiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid (Tac) and Vitamin C and 'above average' amounts of magnesium, zinc and manganese. Mr. Huntsman and Dr. Prescott, I hope you can initiate a clinical trial which would implement the procedure detailed on pages 7 to 9 of www.jsr1936.com. The acid could be obtained, after you obtain FDA approval, from Fluka Division of Sigma-Aldrich P.O. Box 2060 Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53201 Phone (800) 358-5287 FAX (800) 441-8841 Cost of 10 grams - $11.80 Cost of 100 grams - $64.70. However, Mr. Huntsman, if you wish to avoid the red tape of dealing with the FDA you could simply make this acid yourself; it is not illegal or dangerous to do so nor would you be infringing on anyone's patent rights; I describe the procedure on page 7 of www.jsr1936.com and wish to repeat it at this time: " Thiazolidine-4-carboxylic Acid. - The cysteine hydrochloride from 30 g. of cystine was dissolved in 100 cc. of water; 22 cc. of commercial 40% formaldehyde (1.1 mole) was added, and the mixture allowed to stand overnight at room temperature. On the addition of 25 cc. of pyridine, crystals soon separated. The whole was diluted with 50 cc. of alcohol and filtered. The product (28.2 g.) was recrystallized from hot water. The resulting long, colorless needles, which melt with decomposition at 196-197 degrees, are insoluble in alcohol, somewhat soluble in cold water, readily soluble in hot water, in acid and in alkali. " Mr. Huntsman, my newspaper also states: " For Huntsman, the bottom line is simple: End human suffering. " If this be so, Mr. Huntsman, I hope you expand your research efforts to see if I speak the truth in my statements about HIV/AIDS, Alcohol Abuse, Lou Gehrig's Disease, and Macular Degeneration in www.jsr1936.com. For some reason the top health officials in our government don't seem to be concerned about these problems (in addition to cancer); at least this has been my perception in my dealings with them over the course of the past 22 months. Who knows, Mr. Huntsman, your hospital might be the hope of the world as far as these ailments are concerned. Yours truly, S. P.O. Have all of you heard about the old woman who hollered ACTS2:38 when she

caught a robber in her home? Well, the man froze in his tracks, she went

over to the telephone and called the police. When the police arrived, they

handcuffed him. One policeman was very curious about why the man did not try

to run away and asked him why he stayed frozen in one spot. The man replied,

she said she had an axe and 2 - 38's.

I hope this humor those who are frustrated by all the email until they learn
