FREE FAMILY WORKSHOPS BEGIN AT COMPLEX Special Olympics began hosting a series of seminars for families with special needs children in January. The next session will be February 20, 6 to 8 p.m., at the Sports Complex. The topic will be Special Education and Transition to Adult Services. The workshop will cover federal and state special education law as it applies to students of transition age including access to grade level curriculum, and preparation for job, college and adult life. The presenter will also discuss advocacy strategies to involve providers of post-secondary and adult services in the transition process to help ensure seamless transition after graduation.
