WINTER GAMES JUST DAYS AWAY

Winter Games, January 28 and 29, will feature Speed and Figure Skating,

Alpine and Cross Country Skiing, Snowboarding, and the new official SONJ

Special Olympics New Jersey night, February 23 at the Prudential Center.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED AT GIANTS STADIUM EVENT

Special Olympics New Jersey and the New York Giants are hosting the 2nd

Annual Snow Bowl at Giants Stadium, February 9 and 10. For more information,

FREE FAMILY WORKSHOPS BEGIN AT COMPLEX

Special Olympics began hosting a series of seminars for families with

special needs children in January. The next session will be February 20, 6

to 8 p.m., at the Sports Complex. The topic will be Special Education and

Transition to Adult Services. The workshop will cover federal and state

special education law as it applies to students of transition age including

access to grade level curriculum, and preparation for job, college and adult

life. The presenter will also discuss advocacy strategies to involve

providers of post-secondary and adult services in the transition process to

help ensure seamless transition after graduation. To register, e-mail

- TRAINING : In an effort to bring you quality and worthwhile training, we

are asking for you input regarding the type of training you believe is

needed. Not only the sport, but also the areas of training in that

particular sport. Your input is valued and certainly appreciated. Ideas on
