Guest guest
Dear Reece, 45 lbs. Wow, that's great! I bet you can really feel a difference. ADEKs MUST be chewed NOT swallowed whole. Instead of taking 3 at once, have you tried taking a 1/2 pill at a time, spaced throughout the day? Also, you can crush the pill and put it into a little applesauce or pudding. You are still early post op, it DOES get better. Does anything else make you feel like hurling? Jane J. 230/172 (-58 lbs.) Guest guest
Violeta Nice to see your post!! ADEKs are water soluable form of vitamins A, D, E and K. Since we don't absorb fats well, we don't absorb the fat soluble vitamins. ADEKs are usually recommended by the durgeon post op to make sure you get enough of them. Another brand is Allergy A & D, some docs aren't worried about E and K so much and these would be acceptable. You can order them online. I don't have the web adresses though---maybe someone else can help with that? Your surgeon in Spain will have that info too. (Her surgeon is someone who trained under Dr. Baltasar) Hope this helps. Guest guest
Thanks Pammi for your quick responde, very kind of you! Sometimes I don´t understand the shortterms, some people use, since I´m not american. I really love this information page. :-) Violeta _________________________________________________________
Guest guest
Violeta-- You may want to post your doctor's name, where he is from in Spain, and any phone numbers or adresses. McGruder hosts a website that lists all the doctors around the world. www.duodenalswitch.com There is alot of information there that would be good for you as well. Dr. Baltasar's web site in Spanish is: www.seco.org I hope that you get all the information you need before your surgery. You and I will be having surgery the same week in October--about 120 miles apart in Spain!! I'll have a Spanish switch sister!! Keep us posted--ask us anything!!
