Hello

You know I was just thinking about the many of you post-op who have talked about tummy tucks and breast operations and tushes and thighs being moved back to their original places...I was wondering....Are there special plastic surgeons who work on WLS patients? And pray tell, how much do some of these operations cost? Also, since I'm on a roll...protein first of course ....:) has anybody had anything done that their insurance plan paid for or is it all just cosmetic surgery? I may have asked before but I'm really curious now since it has become apparent that with the weight I hope to lose...I may consider it....Funny how my thoughts are toward the aftermath and I suppose that has to do with feeling good about my decision in part due to all of you out there and your help in understanding what I'm going to be up against....and what I can look forward to...

Thanks

Cindy

Post op, during any pcp visits you may have, DISCUSS any rashes you

may encounter in the folds of your skin, or mention your back hurting

due to the apron of skin that's throwing off you off kilter....get it

charted in your medical records...Then when you're really ready to

consider plas.surgery, you'll have a history. Also, if you DO get a

rash, it's worth going to the pcp office, and paying the co-pay etc,

to get documentation of occurance. This is all towards the end of

having it be considered medically necessary, and NOT just cosmetic.

If you need moist rash pictoral documentation...rub a little NAIR in

the folds, and you'll have one HECK OF A RASH to photograph.

Chaffing also counts. Each time you have something that may remotely

be related to your excess skin....at least CALL in to dr.office, and

discuss it with them, asking what otc products you should use to get

rid/relieve it, and be sure to ask them to chart the discussion in

your records.
