Am I alone in this battle? I've been on this weird roller-coaster

for nearly two weeks and I'm going batty!

I feel like I'm craving SOMETHING but cannot put my finger on it.

I eat 2-5 bites of what I THOUGHT I was craving and I'm either full

or the taste digusts me.

I am nearly 5yrs post-op (Aug 99) and I'm having a harder time than

ever before. I can physically eat ANYTHING (sugar, tough meats, you

name it) but my mind is turning everything off!

When I do allow myself to actually get hungry, it's like I'm freshly

post-op again, only able to eat a few bites and I'm stuffed.

My 15 wk appt is tomorrow...I'm going to talk to my doctor

SERIOUSLY. I simply can't accept, " , the baby's fine. " How

can a fetus grow sufficiently if I'm an Open RNY (tummy is 2cc's),

severly anemic (weekly iv treatments), came home with an open wound

from staff infection...so the surgery effected other organs.

Also, I'm on 4mg of Folic Acid...how does that compare to the 80mcg's

that everyone talks about?

PS There's a online pic of our 7.5 wk u/s...if you're interested in

viewing it write me and I'll send you our family website address.

Thanks

I was hungry all the time and when I took a bite it was NOT what I wanted

either. It got better in the later months. I take 800 mcg of folic acid but some

take less if they have it in their prenatal also.. I hope you feel better.

The serious talk with your doctor should help you understand where he

is comming from with this pregnancy and hopefully put your mind at

ease. As for the 4mg of folic it is much more than most people are

taking bu from what I was told that will NOT hurt you if it is more

than you need. You are probabally on so much because of the anemia. I

am on 5 mg daily because I have a genetic disorder (I didn't know

this until pregnancy) which would make me easily have miscarriages -

blood clots - strokes and heart disorders at a young age. Appearently

the folic acid combats this disorder and I will have to take 5mg for

life to prevent complications. Good luck - I suggest you write down

all of your questions and concerns beforehand so you will be thorough

in your discussion with the doc. - Diane
