Guest guest
Hi All! It has been a while since I have posted, but I do try to keep up with the readings. I had quite a few to read today! LOL! We have been so busy here trying to keep the house nice and clean, but it paid off because it did sell after 39 days on the market! Thank goodness. I was going a little crazy. Anyway, that is why I haven't been around much. Also, a bit of bad news here today. Early this moring, about 3:30 woke me up and I noticed he was buring up. I checked his temp and it was 101.4!!! I was a little worried. I gave him Motrin, and he ended up falling alseep again for a couple hours. When he woke up this morning it was 99.4. I gave him more motrin and it seems to bring it down for a bit, but I just checked him again after four hours after his motrin dose and it was back up to 100.7. I am not liking his temps to be this high. I have yet to check his ketones, but he is holding his feeds as well as he usually does. I worry about giving him the Motrin every four hours. Your not supposed to give any more then five doses a day are you? Also, I worry about ear infections with him, since he is so prone to them anyway. I figure on taking him to the pediatrician tomorrow, but what do I need to know in the meantime, or tell the doctor tomorrow? I worry about him having to go into the hospital since his temps are so high, but since he is holding his feeds, do I need to worry about dehydration still or sugar/ketones? I hope to get a response from you all, since so many of you have been through this with your kids, but has generally been pretty healthy with the exception of some ear infections. I think this is probably the flu. had it and is just getting over it, whatever it is. He had the high fevers too, but since he doesn't have the hypoglycemia like does, I didn't worry too much. Any advice would be greatly appreciated you all! ) I am just one worried momma right now. He looks pretty bad, and hasn't really slept very well since this came on. Jodi Z. I know I can count on you to help put here! ) By the way, how much extra water should I be giving him? I am afraid to give too much and set off the vomitting, since he is so volume sensitive, but I have been giving him more than usual. Thanks you all, Jodi R. , 22 1/2 months old, 16 lbs. 8 oz.
