Guest guest
Hi there. I'm new too! I too am a stay at home mom. After 15 years at my bank, I " retired " to stay home with my 3 year old. That is when my weight ballooned back up to 230 due to depression and boredom. But, I am making progress with the BFL program. As far as the Coke question, I absolutely love good old Coca Cola Classic. The only day I drink one is on the Free day. If you haven't read the book yet, I guess you don't know about the free day. You are supposed to do the program 6 days a week and forget about it on the seventh day. I believe this is what helps everybody stick with it. Plus, it boosts your metabolism. But as far as drinking goes, you have to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day, as with most diet/health programs. I absolutely hate water, but I am devoted to the program so I make myself drink it. I used to drink about 10-12 ounces of liquid a day, and it was then only sweet tea or coke. I just don't find that I wanted much to drink. But now, after drinking all the water I am supposed too, I find that I don't have time for any other drinks and don't want anything else either! But do get the book. It is so inspiring! And the before/after pics of the people who did the challenge are awesome! I hope to be in that group soon! > Hi Everyone.... > I'm new too, seems like theres been 10 new ppl since I just joined > yesterday. > > I'm a 31yo sahm, work at home mom (I own 4 businesses, raising 2 kids, > cleaning a 150 yo house... oh.. and a husband . Guest guest
Hi , I have been taking lexapro for about 6 weeks (not long, I know), but I've read the Omega 3 Fish Oils can help combat weight gain. I've lost 50 pounds too so I understand your worry. So far I've kept up my exercising about 5 days a week and watch food intake 70% of the time and am taking Vitamin B, Omega Fish Oil and Chromium Picolinate (suppose to help metabolize fat) and have been maintaining my weight. >My Doc just prescribed Lexapro for me for depression and GAD. Guest guest
Hi ! I just joined today. My gastric bypass was 2 years ago, and I have lost about 140 pounds. My doctor said I could not take Paxil, because it is time released (we cant absorb that), and that it makes you gain weight. But that Lexapro would be ok. I know others here have said they are gaining on Lexapro, and that concerns me too. But I have to admit, I am not grazing and snacking when I am feeling calm and relaxed. When Im not stressing out and anxious, I dont feel the urge to snack. I hope I can keep that up. But right now, thats how its working out for me. I do a protein shake for breakfast, and take my Lexapro with that. Then during the day, I have almost no appetite. I drink decaff tea, crackers and deli meats. As you know, it doesnt take me much to feel full. Or I have a little soup. Then I feel hungry again by dinner, and I just do a protein-dense food. Like chicken, or fish, or tofu, etc. With a side of veggies. Tonight I had a piece of catfish I baked in a little olive oil, lime, and cilantro, and a side of broccoli and cauliflower with ginger sprinkled on top. Im stuffed. Now Im sipping tea again. (remember, decaff only). I also take protonix to make sure that my little stomach stays protected. I have only been on Lexapro for a week, but it has actually DECREASED MY appetite emmensely. My therapist thinks its because Im a stress eater, and Im feeling less stress on the drug now. Keep in touch with me and let me know how youre feeling and doing. We can look out for each other. Guest guest
Aah, the lovely fishy repeat! I tried several brands of fish oil and had to give them up because the fishy aftertaste was really making me feel sick to my stomach. But someone on another website mentioned a brand that has lemon oil added to the capsules to prevent the gross fish taste. I ordered them and they work wonderfully. I sometimes end up taking 3 capsules at one time and even with that heavy dosage, I have never detected the fishy aftertaste. I buy mine from Vitacost but they are probably available other places. http://www.vitacost.com/NordicNaturalsEPA1000mgofFishOilConcentrate/searchby-PN/\ searchtext-fish%20oil<http://www.vitacost.com/NordicNaturalsEPA1000mgofFishOilCo\ ncentrate/searchby-PN/searchtext-fish%20oil> Re: Re: New and some questions I get that fish taste in my mouth. Guest guest
Mmm...for some reason, the link to Vitacost didn't work. Anyway, the fish oil with added lemon oil flavor is Nordic Naturals EPA. Hope that helps someone; I was relieved to finally find one that my weak stomach could handle. Re: Re: New and some questions Aah, the lovely fishy repeat! Guest guest
Hi, I'm new and I've been reading the messages for a few weeks now. I find all of conversations really informational. My daughter was diagnosed with a rare seizure disorder (infantile spasms) at the age of 7 mos. After a very rigourous bout of steroids she's gained some level of seizure control. She's globally delayed, but I've been told by her PT that for her disorder she doing well, God willing. Currently she is 14 months and she is enrolled in EI. There aren't giving us ST yet but I'm trying to prepare for it now. I'm very interested in vitamin and mineral supplements for my daughter. I've read lots of studies on zinc especially being useful to her neurological conditions but it awfully hard to get her neuro to give it any credit. For a 14 month, would I need to get a special prescription for the supplements? And if anyone has a list of all the supplementsthat are useful for adding speech, I'd appreciate it as well. Thanks, am
