Guest guest
I don't feel expert enough to sum up the vitamin E information, but I can tell you what we are doing: takes 1 Vitamin World 100% Natural Vitamin E 400 IU (d-alpha) and 1 Vitamin World High Gamma Tocopherols (200 mg of d-gamma) in the morning with breakfast and 1 of each again with dinner. We feel that the changes have been subtle and positive, but others have experienced a more dramatic reaction. We previously tried a formulation that had the whole dose together, and we got very bad behavior. Keep in mind that has made so much progress already that the school district is re-evaluating him and may take away most or all of his services for kindergarten. When you have a bigger problem, it's often easier to see the results. Key points: --These are therapeutic doses and thus are far higher than the typical recommended amounts. However, our developmental pediatrician feels our dose is safe. --This vitamin E stuff is very new, so you won't find a doctor knowledgeable on the topic. You are using your own personal judgment on this one. I asked our developmental pediatrician to test his blood for vitamin E levels, and she declined because she wouldn't know how to interpret the results. --Use NATURAL vitamin E, not the synthetic form. If it says dl-alpha, that's synthetic. You want d-alpha (no l). Hope that helps! in NJ > > Thanks !
