I haven't had any Charlie Horses since I started

taking lots of vitamin. Don't know if there is a

correlation or not.

PS- Yeah!!!! (About the breast thing)

During my first pregnancy with my typical daughter I had a few Charlie

Horses at the end of the pregnancy. I thought nothing of it, recalled

hearing banana would relieve that and moved on. With my second pregnancy

I got them earlier, more often and they returned after my dyspraxic son

was born. I just got one (the first in a while...before the diet) last

night. It was bad. I cheated a little yesterday with some chocolate

chips (in part to test milk and in part because I am human). I think

that caused the Charlie Horse (no chocolate during first pregnancy and

more than I'd like to admit during the second). I wonder if it was not

milk but the metal that caused this. When I mentioned my daughter's

alopecia (hair loss) explained that a zinc/copper imbalance is

found in autistic kids and may be something apraxic kids share but we

don't know. I asked the pediatrician about getting the labs for that and

he said he thought it was nothing but would be willing to add that to

future labs. I share my daughters condiion and now wonder if on top of

the milk thing this copper/zinc thing may be involved, particularly with

these Charlie Horses. So I guess no more cheating with chocolate may

help me get my answer.

In January I had my Gallbladder taken out and my potassium was low

before surgery. Low potassium can cause muscle cramps like charlie

horses. Make sure you are eating enough food with

potassium...bananas, milk, sweet potato, raisins, yogurt, these were

the easy ones for me. You can google it and find more.

sided calf cramps lately at night. i have been riding my bike pullling my girls

in a trailor also. maybe it's that. i'm a bit worried that i'm not getting

+++Hi ,

Right sided calf cramps are usually caused by too much or too little calcium,

and also because of not taking equal magnesium citrate, or not taking cod liver

oil.

Most members who got legs and foot cramps found calcium in other supplements

they take, without realizing it. Minerals like cal/mag can be in ascorbic acid

crystals (vitamin C), hydrochloric acid supplements, and others, so doublecheck

that first.

You should only be getting calcium from one calcium citrate supplement. Other

supplements also shouldn't have any other nutrients in them other than what I

describe.

Members who take all of the supplements in the correct kinds and doses, along

correctly following the diet do not get leg cramps, so there is definitely

nothing lacking.

Do you have good mineral-rich bone broths? If so, how many cups per day?

Yes, getting tired is a healing reaction - search for my article on Fatigue to

understand.

summer heat with extreme cycling may be playing a role in my discomfort. thanks

for the support, you're the best!
