Guest guest
Eggs are WONDERFUL things. If I could put that in 72-point type, in Bright Apple Red, I would. First solid (? -- ok, sorta) stuff I had was a soft-scrambled egg, and I swear, I believe it's the best meal I've eaten in all my almost- 60 years... Better than lobster. Better than Gulf Coast fresh shrimp and crab. Better than sirloin, or creme brulee. Better even than turtle stew. Yummm! Keep on egging! I was able to have mashed potatoes and mashed ham (that must not be the right word, but you know, the stuff to make nice sandwiches.. ?) That boosted my energy to the roof! Finally, real food! I will again try an egg tomorrow morning, I can't have them all week long, as much as I'd like, because I once had a cholesterol problem (I was at 6.9, and at 7, you risk a heart attack for no reason..) And eating only the white is like not eating enough. Anyway. I'll keep you posted! But, I'm telling you... those mashed potatoes were extraordinary! I also had 3 teaspoon of gravy (was very salty, so I decided to go easy on the gravy). Ray

And eating only the white is like not eating enough. My MIL had a solution for that which she said works. (I hate eggs, so I can't give you a first-hand guarantee.) She breaks three or four egg whites in with one whole egg. She says the taste of the yoke is enough to spread around all those whites. Sometimes she'll seperate and mix an entire dozen of eggs together into a container, then pour out as much as she wants each day, to eat straight or for cooking. If you don't have someone around to eat the egg yokes, you can occasionally mix one in with your pet's food. It will make his coat healthy. (But, like people, excessive egg yokes can lead to high cholesterol in cats and dogs.) Kris
