when do stitches dissolve?

Hi,

I'm about 3 weeks post surgery, and the stitches in my mouth are

driving me nuts. I've lost most of the stiffness in my face, but

whenever I eat or talk I feel my stitches pulling constantly. When can

expect them to be less of an irritant, and when are they supposed to

dissolve by?

Thanks.

You won't like this answer, but the one you can count on is: whenever

they get ready.

Sorry. Try to be patient. But it would not hurt to tell someone at

your surgeon's office what you've told us, and maybe they'll help you

get some relief, or at least tell you what their usual experience has

been. It varies widely.
