Guest guest
Hi all- I had lower jaw surgery 1 week ago and am wired with a splint until next Wednesday. Then I will be banded for 4 weeks. My question is: My tongue hurts...When I swallow it feels like it has bumps on it or something. It feels like a poking, aching feeling. It really bothers me when I talk or swallow. Does anyone know how to relieve this tongue problem? Any advice would be highly appreciated! Thank you.
Guest guest
I'm guessing yeast or something similar. Try warm salt water washes, as best you can manage --- maybe I mean swishes! -- until you get better -- or hey, call the doc and get the best advice! Sorry you're having this problem. but be sure to let the surgeon know that it's big time bothering you! And don't be shy about asking for help, even before next wednesday. Tamale is thurs -- not too soon to ask someone to call for you and let 'em know you're hurting! Guest guest
Cammie...you're da bomb! Always such helpful responses. The warm salt water cleared it all up. I was rinsing with just hydrogen peroxide/water rinse, but not the warm salt water all the time. Just at night and in the morning I would do the salt water thing, but not anymore. The aching tongue pain is gone. I will be rinsing my mouth with warm salt water all day long! Thanks again. V ceast36532 no_reply > wrote: I'm guessing yeast or something similar. Guest guest
I don't get these mystic postings... Maybe everyone else does. If your tongue hurts, what have you tried? Did you post about this earlier? Have you tried any of the suggested remedies (I seem to remember someone here lately with this trouble -- I suggested either warm salt water rinses, nasty purple Gentian Violet, which stains everything, and/or a conversation with the doc about thrush, because there are oral meds for it.) I reckon it could be something else, as well. Whatever, please share and enlighten us all... Cammie > > > :. >
