Hi Sharon;

I am also gathering information to present to my son's doctor.

My impression is that most doctors have a very narrow view of what are "approved" drugs. I hope to have more success convincing him that naltrexone will not hurt my son and it just might help him. It is used to treat many types of illness (alcoholism, opiate addiction...)

I have been saving some of the postings from this board as "anecdotal evidence" of LDN benefits. (there are a lot) The LDN website has a link to "How to talk to your doctor"

I have not found any similar sites where people with MS sing the praises of the Crabs drugs.

The decision seems so simple that I don't understand why a doctor would say NO.

I'm trying to get my neurologist to agree to give me LDN for treatmentof my MS. He is considering it and told me to bring him all I can tosupport my request. I am seeking testimonials from people on LDN for MStelling what their condition was before and then after LDN.I would also like to get any statistics that would support LDN for MS. Does anyone have information on the grant that Dr. Zagon recently gotfrom the NMSS re LDN?Thanks!Sharon

Vic I would be interested to hear how it

goes. My son is 20 and newly diagnosed and I am in the same boat. There is a

website: www.acam.org that has alternative

doctors listed that would most probably prescribe the medicine if you don’t

have any luck. We want to go there for the other more natural ways to battle

the disease, and get the ldn if our doctor will not prescribe it. Conni

To see a website where people sing praises and lodge complaints about

drugs, go to www.remedyfind.com The website has many positive and

negative reviews of drugs. remedyfind.com has reviews of just about

any drug for any illness, not just MS related reviews. The website

also prints handy comparison charts so we can see how patiens have

rated their experience with the drugs.

Hi Connie;

I went to my my son's doctor today and asked about naltrexone treatment. He was happy to receive the stack of information that I presented to him. He is aware that naltrexone is used for other treatments but asked if there had been any clinical studies done for treatment of MS.

Numerous success stories of LDN and the fact that it will not hurt you, convinced him to agree to a prescription. My son was not with me today so we will return to the doctor on Friday for more discussion and the prescription. He is very concerned, though, that it be kept very quiet so that specialists do not refuse his patients because he is using unconventional treatments.

I told him that it is unlikely that my son would consistently give himself injections of copaxone (as recommended by his neuro). He said that LDN would be better than nothing. He will insist that my son keep a diary for continued treatment. (This was my suggestion). We are so close. It is really quite exciting.

good luck to you

Vic

Vic, I am very excited for you. I will

try the same approach on Friday. Let me know how it helps your son. How old

is he? Conni
