It indicates a flare and anemia, and in our case went away, first with prednisone, this time the diet. What is you son on SCD for, and has he had any scoping or blood or stool work to determine if there is an actual digestive issue? Some might suggest we did too much protein. That our own allowance of illegals might have been the main reason she couldn't tolerate some of the easy to digest glucose items early. She could always tolerate ripe bananas which I forgot to add. This is just our experience. I am so glad for all those who have been helpful on this board.
