He probably didn't even mean it to be an insult. Some people are so thoughtless. That is why if I had been in your position, I would not even have had the nerve to go up to someone and introduce myself. I would have burst out crying if someone said that to me... or said something I would prefer not to say. So look how strong you are! You should be proud of yourself for not letting him see how much it hurt, instead of humiliating him or yourself more. Just keep in mind that if you see him again next year or after, he will say, " Gee, little Charlie sure does have a pretty LITTLE wife! " : ) Good luck on your journey! I try to tell myself that this cruelty will make me a more compassionate person.
