Guest guest
Cyndi, I was out all of last week, so I missed out on the CODEX stuff. Can you fill me in? I have been wondering when we would see the repercussions of this. Also, while we're talking, I have been fighting off a UTI for nearly 6 weeks now. I'm on my 2nd round of Leviquin. I took 1 weeks worth of Diflucan after the 1st antibiotics. I take Caprylic Acid and acidophilus every day. I got some cranberry capsules too. Ask Skip if I should do anything else, please. Thanks, Marcie Cyndi Lenz <psychrn@...> wrote: someone sent out a link lat week some time to the CODEX movie. can you resend to me psychrngate (DOT) net - i want to show it to some of my friends. it blew me away. i'll be back online later - having to deal with some stuff with my poor mum today -thankscyndi

In reference to the Codex film, http://herballure.com/Special/WeBecomeSilent/QuickTime.html. These things are just my opinion, which is like a belly button (or other anatomical parts). Everyone has one and they all have lint in them. I've taken Rebif, which made me really sick, and I'm still stumbling. I took Coral Calcium which did not abate the attacks. I also took Copaxone, which did not halt or slow down my MS and might have contributed to my last exacerbation. This film touches just about all of my " buttons " . At one point in the film, they claim 200,000 to 700,000 people have been killed by pharmaceuticals. How many people have been saved? How many people do we know that have been afflicted with polio? How many people with diabetes live successful lives? How many of us would not be here without antibiotics? I have also known people in very dire periods in their lives where short term use of an SSRI provided a very positive benefit. Now big drug companies are entrenched. The original visionaries are gone and it's a big business trying to maintain profit growth, not just profit, but profit growth, in order to keep stock prices high and growing. The high stock price keeps competitors from trying to take them over. One of the things that inspired the original pharmaceutical company founders were the snake oil peddlers. The men who started these companies were outraged by the snake oil peddlers and wanted to make and sell safe products that worked as they were supposed to. These " Snake Oil " peddlers were liars and scoundrels who sold " medicine " that if not outright toxic, were mixtures of alcohol and opiates. I can hear a customer now….. " I feel a lot better after taking Dr. Lipschitz's Snake Oil, you will too! " Those hucksters are still with us as evidence by all of the junk email we get selling drugs for erectile dysfunction. In the health food store I read potency labels that I just don't believe. I talked to a clerk at one of the stores and innocently asked " how do you prove the safety and efficacy or your products? " Her eyes got real big and she quietly backed away. The owner came out and talked with me and I asked the same question. The response was " we do arm strength tests on people " . I then asked how the test was performed and where was the data recorded at. Her response was a dumb empty stare. The Libertarian pat answer to the FDA is to have something like the Underwriters Laboratories take care of things. This would be a private organization that would ensure some degree of safety and efficacy. These drug safety issues can kill people (or worse). I do think that whatever governs drugs should have regulatory teeth behind it to pull product off the market and really instill fear and respect into the companies making our drugs. I'm incensed that the US is letting the UN write our laws for us. The US pays a big chunk of the UN bills. Then to have laws written by non-elected people is giving our country away, a country and an ideal that so many people have given their lives for. The internet is changing our world. Stand up and speak out. www.whitehouse.gov for president Bush www.house.gov for your congressman www.senate.gov for your senator www.lp.org for the libertarian party
