Guest guest
I have been taking Pfizer Thyroid for about 2 years now. I am pleased with the results. Before I had been on a compounded dessicated thyroid which was very expensive. Before that synthroid for 14 years. As I have never taken Armour brand I can't compare, but compared to Syntrhoid this is the best. Pfizer makes it and I get it by prescription from my Doctor, whom I am training (very slowly) On the bottle it says Thyroid Hormone DIN 00023949 made by Pfizer. My pharmacist seems to be having problems getting anything over 30mg, right now. I Live in Calgary. Hope this helps. O'Reilly
Guest guest
Robin, your pharmacist is mistaken. It's prescribed here - I am in Ottawa. I've talked to a few pharmacists here and there are some doctors who precribe Thyroid (which is what it's called here). This is probably the best way to get it. Find a doc who uses it by asking pharmacsits or calling the doctor's office. I've also found an excellent clinic here called The Wellness Hospital (www.wellnesshospital.com) that has a compounding pharmacy - they are a private clinic however and not covered by OHIP. Thyroid is available, you just need to find an enlightened doctor. It might be worth your while to head to Toronto where there are a number of really good holistic doctors, Robin. I know one doc there in particular who's wonderful and I could talk to one of his patients and see if you could get in. He's in Markham / Thornhill area. The problem with getting it though, is finding one who'll give you enough of it. This guy in TO might be that guy - altlernatively there's the web - which is hard because most places wont send to you in Canada Nat > Hello Everyone - I'm new to this list.
