You best bet is to go into one of the better department stores and have it fitted by a trained sales person. Not only will they take several measurements but they will know the strong points of each brand and style. I generally have the best luck with Lillyette's Minimizer styles. I used to like Bali but they no longer make the triple-D that I need.

go and get it treated, the rule of thumb to remember is that things you need

to avoid are treatments that may increase your heart rate and put pressure

on fragile blood vessels.

I have 3 little boys (almost 10, 7 & 4). So far so good, but with the many doctors I have spoken with, and most of them very good doctors, they claim there is no evidence of lupus being passed on to your children.

Mojo

question

Has any one in this group had children that also have lupus? I lost seven children and have two that lived both boys and sadly both with Lupus my youngest has it bad he can't even hold down a job. people tell him he is lazy he will start getting sad and say what did he ever do to deserve this. I wonder if I had known this if I would have had children. take care and IM so glad my new Florida friends are OK.

When I increase my dose my BBT, HR and BP all increase a little for

about a week, then they stabilize. Hypos tend to have low BP so an

increase is to be expected, I know mine would be really low and

really high before I started with the hormones, but it stablized

once I hit the right dose.

Your rise in BP could be related to the increased dose, but it could

also be from stress, or from lack of exercise (especially if you

used to exercise).

How high is it?

> Is there anyway that increasing one's thyroid hormone--nature-

throid, causes an increase in blood pressure? My physician gave me

1/2 grain and refused to increase as he says my reports are normal.

>

> I have upped it by 1/2 grain every two weeks. I am now at 1 1/2

grains and in the last 10 days or so, my blood pressure has

increased. I have been on Altace 2.5 mg for one year and my BP has

been under control. I used to walk an hour a day until late October

when I stopped as I broke a bone in my heel. I have had a lot of

demands from an ailing 87 year old mother since then and have not

started my walking again. Of course, I have gained 10 pounds. I

realize that not walking and gaining weight could be responsible for

the high BP. However, I thought I should check out the increased

thyroid.

Hi Kallie. In a few cases, there are a few folks whose blood pressure

went up when they tried Armour, but it's because " something else " is

wrong, and the T3 in Armour may be aggravating it. But...as you

hinted, it may be the situation you are in, and the walking may help.

my BP has been up to 170/100 on medication although it seems to be more around

the 150 level.

Thanks Janie. Quite interestingly, it is relatively normal today for the first

time in about two weeks. Could it be that I just found out my 87 year-old

mother is going into a retirement home on Tuesday:>) She has been quite a

strain on me for over a year.

Going to the health club I am sure will be of benefit.

I just needed to ask as it is a bit scary upping your thyroid hormone when the

physician refuses. I appreciate the support on this list.
