Lara,

Sorry to say but you must get them done again. There is no other

way. The blood work and Ekg has to be done within 30 days of the

surgery. (In my city it's 7 days) Sorry but at least you do have

time to get it done again.

Lara,

You can attend clinic anytime your insurance agrees to pay for it.

Unless you want to pay for it yourself $255. I went to clinic on

4/29/00. Some insurance will pay for the clinic appoinment and not

the surgery. I wanted to go to clinic before I even made up my mind

to have the surgery. It was great and confirmed all I had heard

about the Dr. & the surgery it was just one less thing I had to worry

about when I started the whole process.

Bread was my drug of choice so I haven't had it yet. Am still doing the

liquid thing...some soft foods. I don't know at what point I will " do "

bread. I think I will need to put it off. If I eat it and it goes down well

I know that I will eat it all the time and get no nutrition.

Flo,

Ice cream and pork chops were my favorites and I haven't tried either

of them because I really haven't had any trouble eating everything

I've tried, and I *don't* want to try these and have no trouble . . .

But I'm not craving them at all, either, which is wild, especially

not

ice cream. I haven't had any trouble with dumping, but anything with

real sugar in it just doesn't taste good too me -- too sweet. I've

sort of wanted a pork chop, but have been putting that off until I

feel like I want to try something that " thickish. "

Somebody here said that when they eat something, they want it to be

*good,* and I'm finding that to be true, now, too, whereas before,

texture and just having something in my mouth was more important than

taste.

I did try beef yesterday and it felt like I had just eaten rocks. I

had bought the Tyson seasoned beef strips that come in a package. I

had a couple of bites of one. They were *terrible.* Tough, ugly,

coarse looking, blech, and tasted worse than they looked. But, just

as well, now I don't have to worry about craving a steak or beef. I

didn't have any trouble with the ground beef in 4 nachos from Taco

Bell a couple of weeks ago, though.

Anyone having trouble with the urge to " put something in your mouth, "

I made a lot of bathroom Dixie-cup sized cups of sugar-free jello --

only 5 calories in 6 of them (total), so less than 1 calorie each.

Kind regards,

Leigh, I can't " do " bread any more. It just sits like a brick and makes me

feel awful. That's okay with me, though; it's a small price to pay for the
