Shoulder stuff is the worst! Having had @ 50 operations, mostly on both shoulders, both knees (including bilateral knee replacements), my hand, ankle, etc., there's no question that I'd rather have 3 TKR's, then one smaller shoulder operation! BUT that's exactly why I want to put an end to all of it & am hoping a fusion will do that or whatever else I come up with. And, unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on how you look at it, I already see the " best of the best " or so to speak, in New York City, that care for the NY sports teams, the professional theater, etc., etc., & even they are leery. BUT I know I've met people that have had it done & have never been happier then a clam. So that's why I'm thinking @ it. The guy that I recently switched to, is off in Greece at the Olympics (life is tough, isn't it)! for a month. I saw his partner yesterday who told me it wouldn't work & basically I was nuts. It took everything I had, not to let him have it! I know I've met lots of people with it, that have EDS & told him, so he backed off. He's just a jerk, but I had to see someone now. So I just want to get some good info before my other guy gets back & then go from there. I really don't know what to do. Take care, be well. Guest guest
Hi , I can certainly understand what you mean about wanting to be done with all the pain in your shoulder. The shoulder that I had fixed and tightened not even two years ago is really bothering me already, restricting motion, hurting alot, and feeling like it is also ripping again or about to.I just had an injection in it last week as the nurse gently pulled on it to sepatrate it while the doc. injected it. It didn't do anything The only fusion I have had was in my neck and I can only say good , even great, things about that.... after the healing that is!! Last xray it wasn't totally fused so I need another MRI. If that is any indication though, fusion sounds great to me too! That doctor sounds ignorant and uncaring. Do you have a backup plan if you doctor agrees with him or have you talked to him about it already befroe he left? I really hope he can help. If not, Consider going somewhere they will. Heck, I live in Richmond and had my neck fusion in Chicago. One of our doctors here has gone to several Olympics.. Is it another week before he returns? Please let us know what you find out. Shoulder pain and shoulder surgery is the worst!!
