Guest guest Report post Posted February 8, 2003 I didnt have knee replacement I had the surgeon go in and clean out the debris in the knee joint. It seems I had a tear in the cartiledge and arthritis through the entire knee with it down to bone rubbing on bone in places. The other knee will probably have the same thing plus a bakers cyst behind the knee. I was lucky that my daughter in law stayed with me for a few days and looked after me. I now have to go for therapy twice a week. All this is compounded by the fact I dont drive and getting on and of the buses is hard at the moment but getting better. My volunteer work keeps my sanity there are so many people in this world worse of than me it makes me appreciate what I do have. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

My mother takes it and so do I. She has artritis really bad in her hip joints and she is nearly pain free with taking the glucosamine, with only occasionally pain on really cold or rainy days. My family doctor didnt hink it would help in my advanced case of arthritis in the knee. He said it works for some people not for others but I will check it out. When a man and woman marry their understanding of these universally wondered questions lead to actions determining whether their fellowship will be that of enjoying bliss or enduring misery. I was an 18-year old kid and Jean was an 18-year old young lady when we were wed. " Are there any spots my Earth Shoes? " was one of the weightier thoughts on my mind at that young age. I cavalierly assumed being married was just something you did and life just got better from that point on. Yeah, the sickness and in health; for richer for poorer; and till death do us part vows were airy concepts but not anything to work out in practice because life will be fun for us. Bad things happen to others. Thank God for the many wise, patient, correcting, and compassionate pastors, friends, doctors, and family members whom He has used over the years to bring enlightened understanding. Jean and I chose to glorify God and enjoy Him forever and do so by actively, practically loving one another and seeking to shine as lights in this present world. Pancreatitis is a huge, cantankerous ogre whose closest pals seek to diminish finances, patience, hope, opportunities, celebrations, and et cetera. Folic acid can restore the endothelium in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and it stands to reason that it may also decrease the redox or oxidative stress to the exocrine pancreas as well thus reducing recurrent bouts of acute pancreatitis. Milhorat and Bolognese. If you had the privilege of staying there, you know that you saved a ton of money and had a very safe/clean environment to put your head. Dennis, the manager of the Variety House, is an exceptional person, one always willing to try to help you with whatever little obstacle comes your way. On one of my stays, Dennis and I were talking about some of the needs of the house. I asked him to provide a list and that maybe some of us would be willing to give him a hand with such items. PLEASE , we understand if you are in a situation that you can't help at this time but maybe there are a few of us that can help. Here is the listing: Towels and wash cloths Pillows and zippered covers Sheet sets (double bed size) Crib Sheets Light blankets A TV/Video cabinet A full size air mattress (as some of you know they currently use something that looks like a pool raft for their over flow guests) Step stool (Rubbermaid type) Light bulbs 60/75 watt Folding chairs 2 toaster ovens Toaster -- 2 slice and 4 slice The over head for a facility of this size is probably very high and we know just how reasonable it is to stay there so we thought it might be nice to see if there was some way we could help the facility out. On our last trip, my husband and I presented Dennis with a gift certificate to JCPenny's. We felt with the gift certificate, he could pick out exactly what he wanted and we didn't have to drag anything extra along with us. If you are interested in helping in this way, please email Kathleen or myself. We will try to keep a running list of things that are being purchased/sent. I also talked with Dennis about sending a contrubtion and he said that any money donated should be sent to the Mc Corporation and you can specify that the money goes to the Variety House...but it needs to go thru the corporation first.
