Guest guest Report post Posted December 31, 2002 We don;t have any water restrictions here yet. Although as of 1/1/03 our electricity charges go up 33%!. So now everyone here has to find a retailer with cheaper electricity from interstate or sign a contract with the current on. 33% is heaps, especially if like us we run our aircon. non stop in hot weather. Re: Maia and asked MEGAN- > Isn't it alot cooler in Canberra? Well, the answer to that is yes, and no! (And there's no need for you lot to roll your eyes at me like my children do!!) Today, it's pleasantly warm (around 28oC), windy, and drizzling for 2 minutes about once an hour. February is our hottest month generally, and will regularly see 36-38oC days. (Just in time for the kids to go back to school) Our winters are glorious - sunny cool days and frosty nights. I'd guess the highest daytime temp would be around 19oC and the lowest night temp would be minus 11oC. That's July/August. So for all those people who recognise this as an advertising piece - come and play with us in Canberra. It's a great place to be. Our water restrictions are lighter that many other places too! We can water our lawns every second day, and gardens every day if using hand held watering devices. We can wash the car as often as we like, as long as we use a bucket of water and not a hose. I have been fine since then, but 30 was a trip for me...lol....then 35....wow....I was like....only 15 to 50...that was scary, since the last 15 years had gone so fast....lol.....So you are feeling well? I am trying to keep busy by raising awareness of PAI with a few Doctors that take care of me here in New Awlins so we say if you will.... Plus I pick up my sisters kids in the afternoon from school.... Back to the question at hand the only major problem that I have had since the surgery is My blood sugar keeps going up so my Endo is concerned about that... We are discussing the possibility of me getting an Insulin pump, but the only problem is that they are not water proof and I love to swim in the summer at my brothers house and I won't be able to do that if I get the pump.... I missed all of last year due to being sick so I don't wanna miss this season... Well makrk thanks for asking how I was feeling... Let me know if you would like to help with the insurance thing.... I go for an MRI on the 19th and he will decide what can be done. Of course any trauma flairs up the pancreas and I have reached the stage with this disease that I am never without pain. I am a very strong person with a high pain threshold but it is wearing me down. The loss of my husband in March last year didnt help either. One has to keep going as best they can. I am doing volunteer work on our Toronto Distressline and also at the local hospital which keeps my mind occupied with other things.Thank you for asking. I just dont like to take to much because I need to keep busy and too much medication makes you so tired. So I have learned to live with daily pain but do take it if it becomes unbearable. Have you asked your doctor for something to help you take care of the pain? Even if you have a high pain threshold, dealing with the constant pain wears you out and you can become exhausted very easily. I also am always in pain and the pain management team I have are wonderful and they always make sure that the pain is tolerable. I am glad you are keeping busy, tht always helps and sometimes you can forget the pain if it is mild. I am also sorry for the loss of your husband. Guest guest Report post Posted February 8, 2003 I didnt have knee replacement I had the surgeon go in and clean out the debris in the knee joint. It seems I had a tear in the cartiledge and arthritis through the entire knee with it down to bone rubbing on bone in places. The other knee will probably have the same thing plus a bakers cyst behind the knee. I was lucky that my daughter in law stayed with me for a few days and looked after me. I now have to go for therapy twice a week. All this is compounded by the fact I dont drive and getting on and of the buses is hard at the moment but getting better. My volunteer work keeps my sanity there are so many people in this world worse of than me it makes me appreciate what I do have. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
