Guest guest
Hi, One can wonder what evidence they want to see............??? Last night I attended a yoga class as part of my fitness course......... there I was with doing this complicated leg wrap that really pushes the hip in a stretch and the old prothesis was doing its clunking as it went through its paces......... I comment on this, sure half the room must have heard the rachetting machinery and wondered what was going on........ the yoga instructor freaks out........ for she had really committed a sin and not really checked my medical status and at this point realises I have a hip prothesis......... But does this matter to me........... No because I have one of those pretty well fail safe BHR's...........and any of these people have only see a THR and know what they do under pressure...........and this is with the limited muscle structure I have left.........BTW I did ask my surgeon in Feb if I could ever dislocate it now and he said no not now, so I wasn't on shaky grounds with my presumption.......... And says she has danced and lived her way though nearly 15 years of her's.............. Here's to hoping you can get all the difficulties sorted............ What a coincidence! Last night I went to my first post-op yoga class. I couldn't believe how much better it felt than any class I've done in the last several years. I only clunked once, I think. The difference in flexibility was really quite astounding. One legged balancing was a little dicey, but that's strictly a strength issue. The hips themselves were solid, flexible, and absolutely pain-free. I wish I'd gotten the surgery years ago. Steve (bilat C+ 4/20/04, Amstutz) PS> You're still my hero, Edith. Guest guest
Hi It's my understanding that everyone who has a resurfacing from one of the BC doctors has to pay $3000 for the prosthesis, because MSP considers it an experimental device and won't pay for it. Maybe some extended health plans do pay for some of it, but you don't have that anyway. It's too bad you got on Dr. Garbuz's list, because Dr. Greidanus in the same office has done a lot more resurfs. I know some people who were resurfaced by Greidanus and are very happy with the results. But I don't think you're allowed to ask to switch between those orthopedic surgeons. However, all 4 doctors in that office (including Masri and Duncan) were trained by McMinn and Treacey originally, I believe. n in Vancouver rBHR Oct.2004 McMinn
Guest guest
Hi Steve, Now I have wonderful visions of you perched like the xmas fairy doing your 1 legged balance............smile. Though seriously I am glad it went so well......... I bet you are one of those clever ones who can fold the body up over the legs??? I could only watch with great envy........... hoping against hope I make it to 90 deg one day.........smile. Happy yoga exercising...........and yes I think there are many of us who wished we had gotten this new life years ago......... Edith LBHR Dr. L Walter Syd Aust 8/02 > > What a coincidence!
