My kitty won't be living long :( and two up coming surgeries. :(

Such a week --then yesterday afternoon I took my precious 15 y/o kitty who's

always been so active, healthy and young acting, to the vet. The 2nd time in a

week. he said, " maybe " arthritis " --but he didn't think the symptoms of weight

loss, and the symptoms moving joint to joint would really point to that, blood

work was good and she responded well to the short acting cortisone..A week

later, over night she developed a huge bump on her knee--but didn't seem to have

problems using it.

When he checked the cells from it, he found cancer of the connective tissue. (

ithink he said a sarcoblastoma...isn't that the one that goes fast?

Poor baby has lost over 2 pounds in less than a month, and despite eating better

for a week, she lost weight. She sleeps so much, and even looks like she's

suffering. Often she lashes her tail side to side....

I asked that she be kept comfortable so he gave he a longer acting cortisone.

I feel so bad...she's been my sweetie for sooo long now. I'm gonna miss her.

Besides this, I learned I'll need aTKR for sure on Wed. yesterday, I then

learned an MCP fusion is needed on my thumb --the one that just had the basilar

surgery in March.

The thumb fusion is Aug 10.

Hopefully the knee surgeon won't mind waiting until Nov. to do the TKR

I'd rather do the knee now, and the thumb later...but both physically and

financially it should work out better this way. Either way if both surgeries are

done this year, they will be covered at 100%.

The difficulty is I'll run short of PT sessions this calendar year. We only have

40/year. And I 've been treated for 5 different things so far and I'm running

out of session. I have 7 left...just enough for the thumb (I counted the ones I

used for the last fusion.)

I keep thinking of my kitty. I'll be so lonesome without her. :(
