Hello Mark

You asked about Dr Wm Kennedy. I went to him for my resurf after much

deliberation between all possible resurf drs. I live in Fort Myers FL and had

consulted with Drs Kennedy, Gross, Desmet and Chuck at JRI. I found him

to

be calm and kind — Knowledgeable and excited about resurfacing. He has a

great

reputation as " the hip " dr in Sarasota. I felt very confident when I met and

spoke with him about my condition and what to do.

There are a few others - Diane, Jeff, Kathy, Mike, . . . who are

SurfaceHippie members that are patients of Dr Wm Kennedy. I spoke with as many

of them as

possible prior to and post-op.

Dr Kennedy patiently went through my condition and options. Mark, his PA,

stayed on to answer as many question as I had for as long as I wanted. The

entire office had an " up-beat " positive feeling to me which was different than

any

other OS office I had ever been in. He showed me the resurf prosthetic, how

it looked feels and works and aslo standard THR prosthetics. I really didn't

want anything to be wrong with my hip much less be faced with this need for

surgery so all of these things added up to make me feel confident in his hands.

I have the Corin Cormet 2000 installed in my Left Hip. I feel fabulous at

one year. I am a movement instructor teaching both dance and Pilates. I do not

push my body the way I used to when I was professionally performing. I am

able to stand on one leg at a time comfortably. I am able to do most Pilates

exercises on most days. The only thing I am still a little uncomfortable with

is lying on my left(op) side on a hard surface. I can, but I do not, jump or

run . . . . other than lightly & briefly.

Insurance was handled by Joanie in the Kennedy White Orthopedic office.

Everything went very smoothly covering all suergeon and hospital costs. I

believe

I paid under $1000 out of pocket.

and arranging, I did not. My carrier is United Health. My friend Kathy also

had her insurance cover for Dr Kennedy - no problem, but I forget who her

carrier is. . . .

Do visit Dr Kennedy, esp since you are close. I had a very good feeling

about his office. My consult with Dr Kennedy was informative and confidence

building. I like that my dr is close, a mere 1 hour drive. As you check out

our

options the more you know the better you can choose.

I, too had an excellent experience with Dr. Wm. Kennedy in Sarasota, a fine

gentleman and superb physician.

He did my left hip in 2002 and the right one...a couple of months ago.

Am not yet growing a third hip....i don't think.
