Hi Stacey

I'm so glad you're back home and OK. I'm glad your vitals checked

out too! Darn bloodwork!!! :-X I'm very sorry to hear of the

urinary tract infection. :-( That must be miserable! :-C I hope

the antibiotics clear it up soon for you.

I sure hope that the MS Contin breathing side effects get better soon

for you. Could it be possible that maybe you hurt your ribs during

sleep and that's causing some of the pain and breathing issues? Just

a thought as I know so many here struggle with ribs! Whatever it is,

I hope it improves ASAP. And yes, good to take it slow and easy when

coming off the MS Contin if you decide that is best.

Big (((HUGS))) and I'm so glad to hear you are OK, hun. I've been

thinking, worrying, and hoping for the best since I read your post!

Take care Stacey,

-Rhea

I am glad that the ER didn't think there was something acute happening,

aside from the UTI! Fever can do funny things to people so perhaps that in

combination with the MS Contin may have triggered asthma in you - but I must

say, it is rather contraindicated to offer someone who is already on a CNS

depressing narcotic who may have had an asthma attack as a result of this, a

sedative. Very odd, unless he suspects that your asthma is stress-induced

or that perhaps this wasn't at all an asthma attack and more of a

fever/increased med side-effect/mild CNS depression combination.

Hang in there and I hope you feel better today!

Thanks Rhea and Jill (and Lana)

I am feeling slightly better now that I have had two antibiotic

pills into me. I do know however that I will probably get worse

before getting better as that usually happens with me and infections.

He didnt think it was asthma per say because my oxegen level was

100%. I assume he figured the breathing was just my body's way of

telling me something was wrong and gave me the sedative to help my

body relax. I havent taken any nor do I plan on it unless I get so

I cant breathe again then I will try. I still have chills combined

with periods of almost hot flashes and clamminess still but

hopefully it will all go away soon. Thank you all again for your

concern :)

Stacey,

A Peak flow meter can help you know in the future if it is an asthma

attack or if it is some other kind of reaction (it is a little

plactic rectangle device with a tube int he top you breath into and

an indicator on the top, when you breath in it it lets you know what

volume your lungs can hold and if this changes (Downwards) then you

know it is an asthma attack, they aren't bery expensive and cab be a

wonderful aid in ANY asthmatics box of tricks (even us mild/allergic

ones).
