The Other Girl is me. Susie represented my story pretty well. If

you're English, are you in England? If so, you're soooooo lucky.

You're in the ground zero of hip resurfacing!

There are more protrusio patients on this site all the time. I hope

to get the leg length discrepancy sorted out with my next op.

I was surfed Nov. 2001 and still, occasionally, get new muscle

aches & pains on the done side as I push for more and more

flexibility (which I achieve). Of course, this improvement occurs

contemporaneously with increased deterioration of the other

side, so my advice is to try and go for a bilateral if you think you

can stand it.

Just insist on having your legs measured pre-op and discuss

the leg length issue with your doc then so you know what to

expect post op.

Added benefit for the otto pelvis patients: Post op, with exercise,

your saddle bags will DISAPPEAR. You can finally stretch those

muscles that were dormant for decades due to defective hinges.

Best,

Sheila

Hi Sheila,

Nice to hear from you. I am English but live in Germany. My OS

trained in Birmingham and has been resurfacing for 7 years, so I feel

I've made a good choice.

I plan to get the other hip resurfaced towards the end of the year.

I'm aware that I will not be able to do too much with the first

resurfaced hip until I get the other one done. Thanks for the advice.

Do you know when you will be having your other side done?

Take care. Jill
