Carol = do you have a copy of that paper and the one that refutes it?

My daughter's biology teacher let me see her big wall poster that showed where

all the different genetic disorders are found. Chromosome 7 does have EDS VIIA2

on it as well as Osteogenesis imperfecta. I'd have to look up the other

chormosomes to see where the other types of eDS are. BTW Autism is not located

on Chromosome 7.

Hi All:

This is really interesting. I too have a sister who is

developmentally delayed, with severe, severe speech difficulty, and

gross and fine motor problems. My youth living with her I never

recognized that she has great difficulty standing in one place. The

task she hated most was washing dishes and preferred using cooler water

(we had a large family with lots of dishes). Drying dishes where she

could move around while doing so was not nearly so distasteful. She did

not walk till she was 6 or 7 yrs old.

I also would be very interested in that paper you refer to. What doctor

did you see at Sick Kids?

Regards, Bernie

Hi all,

This is amazing. I have a multiple handicapped brother who is

developmentally delayed also with severe speach difficulty and ataxic

cerebral palsy! He is now 53 and lives in a group home-visiting us here 3-4

times a year.

This is just an amazing connection.

RE: Re: Mental retardation and EDS ... is there a connection?

Hi Bonnie:

I will fill out your speech and language survey if that will help.

Thanks in advance. I will send it to you off list.

Has anyone ever seen research on Hypermobile Joints and Developmental

Delay and/or Autism.

I've never seen any research on that when doing my literature searches for my

research.... I will have to plug those parameters in. That's one of the

reason's I'm doing the survey.... because I saw a LOT of hypermobile kids with

ADD/ADHD, Dev Delays, Autistic characteristics, etc.
