Guest guest Posted June 13, 1999 Report Share Posted June 13, 1999 Well, just want to share my latest with you all. I have spent the last week in ICU at local hosp. I got real sick and came real close to getting my transplant. I have to go to tx center on tues. to see drs. there. All of a sudden my pancreas went wacko, along with gall bladder. Had to have stomach pumped of food and bile ( my digestive system shut down.) It was a real scary week, I'm glad it's over and hope they will have some good answers on tues. By bags are packed! My stomach swelled so bad, an unknown sugeon, called to er was ready to operate to remove a hernia! I refused to let him, knowing he didn't have a clue. He was ready to relocate my illeostomy and all to remove it. Needless to say, he didn't stick around long. The worst has past, but only temporarily according to my dr. Too bad that you had to end up in the ICU and that the signs of serious problems weren't recognized and treated sooner, but at least something is being done now. Like all of us, I know that you were hoping that they day wouldn't come when you'd hear that transplant is inevitable. Thank God they are now reacting and very quickly, it seems. Take care. Have been doing fine. THEN...felt a little groaty in the breast area. Mamogram said " Get back to your doctor immediately. " Chose not to. Am doing hyberbaric tank - Flor-Essence - NK - BUT for the liver - am doing castor oil paks. Infuse cotton cloth with with castor oil. Place on liver at night - over that place a plastic cover (I used a dry cleaning bag) and over that, a heating pad. I also place a towel over that. My liver is better. Don't worry about my english, I'm swiss and I am living in Australia. I bought the book after a natropath told me about it. Why...because I have been diagnosed with a Prolactinoma, that is a tumor in the pituitary gland, and have been told to wait and see how this will develop. I thought I might to something about it and try to change the way I eat. I dont know if it will help, I would have liked to ask Dr. Dadamo but his site is closed and so I do not know if there is anything known about that in this matter. As I said I am Swiss and grown up on potatoes, pasta, cheese, milk and of course coffee. Well after the first week of terrible withdraw syndromes I managed to stay away from coffee and do quit well without bread, cheese and potatoes. I eat a lot of stir fry with rice but that gets a bit boring and I am looking for other receipes, such as millet or similar. However, my bookshop has not heard anything about the Dr. D cookbook. Maybe it is not available yet in Australia. With interest I have read this pages and I am surprised not to find anyone participation from Australia. There are some differences in food names, and I am still figuring out what is what. In general I feel good, but sometimes I get tummy aches and a lot of air. I haven't figured out why yet, sometimes it is with rye bread and feta, or after a big plate of salads. I can't leave the vinegar yet, and I like to have my glas of wine. During the day I drink herbal tea and water, but maybe I should drink more. Well as I said I still have to find the right way. We do have adult services but they are alotted by budget so limited to first come first serve. Up until recently the state funded " slots " not people so the money stayed with the agency supply the services not with the person recieving the service. So, if the person didn't suit the agency or their programs they got bumped (still do with that type of funding). We also use a Spanish/English Legal Dictionary published by Butterworth for legal terms. It's very thorough and used in the law school. I believe it was originally put out by Bicycle Press. Do you have a current distributor? We would be interested in acquiring a bulk supply for distribution to health centers at cost. Thanks. I am going to my primary care doctor on the 11th and I am going to ask him to change my anti-depressants to either celexa or wellbutrin, check to see if I am going "through the change", give me something to get rid of these hot flashes, and a few other things . . . It doesn't taste nasty, hardly has a flavour, it's just kind of gritty and needs swilling down with a drink. You could make a soup and sprinkle a little in? You can actually put a little up your bum if you have a willing partner to do so, that works quick. I haven't tried that way but I know somebody who has. If you do try, only have a tiny amount your first time, no more than a pin head, then gradually build up over the next few days.
