Guest guest
Excuse me for asking, but if you're familiar with penitentiary cuisine, I'd love to know if that's because you cooked it or because you ate it. Des Tuck P.S. My assistant heard me laughing when I read your e-mail and she wants to know if you hurt your hip while breaking out. Guest guest
Hi Gang, I miss you guys, but there is only so much time I can spend at this chair. Briefly. Not much pain, just tightneess and " clunking " . SLEEPING is problem #1. MY KINGDOM FOR A NIGHT ON MY BELLY! Lots of self doubt still, but working on staying positive. Eating right and pooping well (ah, it;s the little things in life). Thanks for your notes guys, you know I love you. Patience will be a virtue hard found for me, as I am a spaz by nature. My wound looks superb. My home nurse is cool, she's a fellow gardening enthusiast and she stole some of my watsonii seeds on the way out the door. JRI was some what of a let down, it is old and creepy. The air quality, or lack thereof freeked me out from the get go. And the food would gag a starving man. I should have brought some sleeping pill, cuz all they gave me to sleep was benadryl. Bring your own food if you can. Unless you like the penetentiary cuisin. Gotta go..... Guest guest
Chris: Glad you are coming along. Hopefully you should see changes for the better each and every day. I know that sleeping is many people's #1 problem the first month or two and especially during those first weeks. Here are so ideas that might help you get a better night sleep. 1. Take few or no pain meds except Tylenol during the day. Save the stronger meds (the ones with a bit of narcotic in them) for night time....this may aid in sleeping as well as discomfort that might keep you awake. 2. Sleep on top of the covers with a loose comfy throw or light weight down comforter on top. Less to bind you or weigh you down, allowing you to move if need be with less restrictions then you already have. 3. Have the nurse show you how to sleep on your unoperated side. You can then shove pillows on both sides of you to keep you from rolling over in the night. 4. If you get fidgety when you wake at night, go ahead and get up and go to the bathroom or get a snack, whatever. Sometimes it's just your body waking you because it's restless. 5. Watch those naps during the day. Keep them short and sweet so you will sleep better at night. Best of luck. Lois C+ 3/27/03 Dr. Mont Day 6....the fidget zone.... Guest guest
Hi I think the sleeping issue would be no 1 problem that 98% of hip op people have............groan. Remember someone said they found sleeping in an upright lounge chair good........... most of us just persevere on until one night we sleep again......... oh for a magic fairy to solve it............. Keep sane.......... and not a lot of use having self doubt at this point............smile..........better to dream of this time next year..........
