Question - possible hernia?

Yep, it's that time again - Jo's curious questions!!

where a 2-3 inch long " sausage " (the only way I can

describe it!) appears in the mid-lower right quadrant of my abdomen.

It looks and feels awfully like a section of bowel and has me a

little concerned that I may be developing a hernia -

~~~~~
I developed an umbilical hernia 2+ years ago. It hurt a LOT, made me nauseous.
I also came to the list to ask about it and got the right answer - a possible
hernia. I had it repaired and they used mesh to keep the muscles/fascia
together. It took almost 2 years for it to incoporate totally and now I'm on
weight lifting restrictions (officially) because whenever I lift anything over
15 lbs I get pain again.... Because my body doesn't handle pain at all - or
trauma I was in horrible pain after surgery, even with pain meds. That's when I
found out I was allergic to morphine, dilaudid, etc....and that the morphine
pump did NOTHING for the pain!
You might want to ask sooner than waiting for your hospitalization. Not
something you want to play around with, if it IS a hernia. Good luck!
Hugs to you!
Hi Jo,
I have never had one other than hiatal, but from your
description, hernia sounds like a good bet. Definately
ask about it!
Keep your chin up!
