Liza, thanks for the reference; I had HEARD references against pine and

cedar, but nothing specific. None of my vets has ever said anything to me about

litter. I tried to shift away from scented litter at one point a few years ago

(just because; it seemed unnecessary). They objected. More than I could stand

cleaning up at the time. BTW, my cats couldn't seem to like anything FINER than

they were using. I used the transition method, but at some point in the

transition, it was too much for them.

Well, much as I love my pair, I am not myself entirely happy with their own

litter habits. We have a screened aviary/porch for the pets, where any & all

can dig away in " outdoor " plants and do their thing. However, the older,

hypothyroidal cat at one point decided he preferred 1) leather (Rex's Harley

boots

especially) 2) Carpet (Rex's closet especially) and 3) plastic (son's game

system, a computer, any grocery bags left anywhere while unloading), so we added

a bedroom closet box for him with Sweet wheat....which the other cat now

loves, sigh! Rex loves the older cat, so he tries to claim young cat did it,

but I

catch oldster in the act ALL the time! Secretly I'm praying for old cat to

die soon, LOL. With all the strays/shelter cats around here, cats are easily

replaceable, much as I enjoy the personalities of the ones currently in

residence.

Liza....NOT in danger of becoming an old " cat lady " .....
