Guest guest
Hi grace, It's not an embarassing question to ask, it's what i think of as the ick factor. All of have to deal with icky things and if we don't ask it can be hard to get answers. I've struggled with it a lot with my pain meds, i now take an over the counter generic stool softener 3 times a day with my narcotics and things are much easier. I think the hardest times for me have been right after my surgeries to the neck and head becuase they cut through all those muscles it hurts to do any pushing, plus with me pushing causes headaches. Pushing is known as a valsalva maneuver and in my case anything like that causes awful headaches so it was very difficult to go and i would get very backed up so to speak. I wish you the best of luck, Embarrasing Question > > I know most, if not ALL of us in on some kind of pain medication. I've noticed that many of these meds cause, constipation. Guest guest
Hi Grace, Miralax is the only thing that has worked for Dylan, We tried stool softeners, laxatives, enema's, you name it. The Dr has to give you a script for it. No more straining, hard stools, tearing, just nice normal rid of waste. This subject comes up allot. Most of us deal with it. No need to be shy about it. Guest guest
Hi Grace, There's no such thing as an embarrassing question amongst this family Sweetie. Sadly we have to cope with the not so easy to talk about stuff along the way and it's only be talking about things and discussing them that we find answers, solutions and ease our fears that we're not the only ones going through it too! As for the constipation issue, I just wanted to warn you to be careful about using any of the stool softening medications etc.especially if you are prone to over reacting to medications. I was given an equivalent to Miralax a few years ago, but because of my small size and body wieght, I over reacted to it causing swelling and bleeding in the bowel, which was very painful. I now have to be very careful with dosages of stool softening meds and certain ingredients are a complete no-no for me. So would advise you to check out options with your Dr and make sure you can be monitored. Hope you can find a solution soon Darl. Thinking of you. Love and hugs....Jo xx
